On September 15th & 16th, 2015 Reynolds Libraries treated students, faculty and staff to an Open House event featuring the crazy combination of donuts, exercise moves and mobile devices.  Guests were invited to explore new mobile checkouts (like laptops, Chromebooks & iPads), try a Bookmark Workout, get a picture taken in our iPad Photo Booth, and even sample local donut delicacies from around RVA.

The ‘donut party’ as one student called it, featured a blind taste test of 3 local donut shops…Sugar Shack, Duck Donuts, and Country Style. After tasting all three confections, participants voted on their favorite.  With 46.2% of the votes, Country Style won! In addition, Krispy Kremes were served to everyone who completed a library survey using iPads. To burn off those calories, two librarians demonstrated how to work out with your favorite book.  An app called Camstar delivered silly photos in the iPad Photo Booth, and last but not least… new mobile checkouts– featuring laptops, Chromebooks, and iPads–were shown off. We hope everyone had as much fun as the library staff.
